Ashley is very pretty, but was very self-conscious about the size of her nose. It had been injured slightly as a child, but it was not until she reached her teen age years when it became unattractive. She was now teased by a rather large "hump". Neither did she care for the fullness at the tip of her nose. Ashley wanted a nose which matched her other features, not one which overwhelmed her delicate features. "I did not want to wait until I was 21", Ashley told her parents. The surgeon met in consultation with Ashley and her mother. At first she was afraid that surgery would be very painful, but the the surgeon told her that many patients use mainly Tylenol after the first couple of days. Ashley decided to undergo a septorhinoplasty which was designed to improve the injury and maintain her breathing as well.

Jackie works as an appearance consultant. She was happy with her own appearance except for one thing: she wanted a more refined nose. She was not interested in a major change and did not want to look "operated on." After meeting in consultation with the surgeon, he explained the surgery, anesthesia, recovery time and costs. Jackie decided upon a "finesse rhinoplasty" which concentrated on refining the slightly large tip. Jackie is shown a one week after surgery and again 2 months post op.
